This is a thriving club, with over 140 members. We play rubber bridge and duplicate and we have a reputation for being a friendly club.

We cater for all standards and are able to offer courses for beginners. Our better players regularly do well in county competitions and occasionally at national level.

However, most of our members just look for congenial bridge in a pleasant setting. We play three times each week - rubber bridge one evening and duplicate two evenings. Please see the calendar pages for dates. For all sessions please arrive by 7.00pm for a prompt start at 7.15pm.

Each session of bridge costs just £1 for members, or £2 for visitors. Becoming a member (at an annual subscription of £10) permits entry into club competitions, teams, etc.

In addition to our regular evenings we also run a No Fear duplicate session on Thursday afternoons from 1.30pm 'till 4.00pm. A limited number of boards are played with some tuition too. This is open to both members and non members and is for those who have learnt how to play bridge and want to practise their newly acquired skills. It costs £2.00 per person per session.

Important note following the EGM held on 22 May 2008

"Chair of the club, Ann McMahon gave a brief outline of the EBU proposals, which were intended to arrest the steady decline in the number of duplicate players in the country. Members were given an opportunity to ask questions and express their opinions and then a vote was taken on whether to support the EBU's plan. Including proxy votes, the motion to support the EBU was defeated by 56 votes to 14."

Thursday afternoon from 1.30pm until 4.00pm

It will be very relaxed and is for those who are learning to play Bridge and would like the opportunity to practise the things they have been taught.

Turn up and play – you do not need to be a club member. Come on your own if you haven’t a partner as a partner will be provided. There will be guidance and some tuition.

Cost - £2.00 per person per session.
